About Jewles (Julie Catoe) I am a trauma‑informed practitioner with a background in mental health counseling, somatic practice, and embodied education. I am a survivor myself. My path began with personal experiences that shaped my commitment to understanding how the mind, body, and lived story intertwine. I have spent years supporting individuals through trauma, grief, and identity work, and I am completing my training in Somatic Sex Education through the Institute of Somatic Sex Education.

Through this work, I’ve learned that the joy found in desire and pleasure reaches far beyond cognitive healing — it touches the whole being. Happy Endings for Sexual Assault Survivors is the culmination of my final project and the beginning of my next chapter, grounded in warmth, choice, and the belief that every person deserves to feel sovereign in their own body.

I understand the feeling of being trapped in a trauma cycle—stuck, lost, anxious, depressed, and even resorting to self-harm, which manifested for me as an eating disorder. I began therapy at the age of 19 and have never looked back. Through deep exploration, I discovered healthier ways of living and thriving. I no longer hurt myself and began to feel comfortable in my body, allowing myself to be present. By uncovering the traumas I had experienced, I learned that even though I did not choose the abuse, I have the power to change how my story is reflected in my body and life. I truly practice what I preach. My approach is focused on empowering individuals to overcome challenges and embrace their authentic selves and to find their desires.

Not only am I trauma informed I believe in the power of blending somatic practices with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to offer a less invasive and highly effective way to help individuals facing life's deepest challenges.  I create a supportive environment for those dealing with Trauma(s), PTSD, PTSE, Complex Trauma, and other life-altering issues. Now that I am transitioning into my Sex Therapist and Somatic Sex Education role I am very focused on desire, consent, proper sex education (we all deserve) and learning about pleasure. You can find my newest work in Happy Endings for Sexual Assault Survivors.
